  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder fresh garlic works too but use less
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder great substitute for fresh onions

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, ensuring it doesn't brown.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the melted butter and whisk continuously for about 1 minute.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese, mixing until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the cheese sauce, stirring well.
  7. Gently fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well-coated.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
