How to Make Burrito Casserole
  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef. Cook for 7-10 minutes until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season the Meat: Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet with beef. Stir and let simmer until thickened.
  4. Layer the Tortillas: In a greased baking dish, lay down half of the tortillas.
  5. Add the Fillings: Spoon half of the meat mixture over the tortillas, then half of the black beans and a layer of cheddar cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  6. Finish with Cheese: Ensure the final layer is just cheese.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with sour cream and salsa.
