How to Make Crockpot Zuppa Toscana
- In a skillet over medium heat, place the Italian sausage. Cook until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is softened and translucent, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully pour the sausage mixture into your crockpot.
- Pour in the chicken broth followed by the sliced potatoes. Stir to combine.
- Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for about 4 hours.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, stir in the chopped kale and heavy cream.
- Before serving, taste and add salt and pepper to your liking.
