How to Make French Onion Meatloaf
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking dish or loaf pan with nonstick spray.
- Sauté sliced onions in butter over medium heat until golden brown and caramelized, which should take about 15-20 minutes.
- Combine in a large bowl: ground beef, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf in your prepared dish.
- Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
- Add Gruyère cheese and reserved onions for the last few minutes before baking.
