How to Make Rainbow Candy Apples
- Wash and dry your apples thoroughly to ensure there's no wax residue. Insert a lollipop stick firmly into the top center of each apple, making sure it's secure for dipping.
- Prepare your workspace by lining a tray with greased parchment paper.
- Combine ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F, the hard crack stage, which takes about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the white gel food coloring once it reaches the right temperature.
- Add colors by swirling dabs of rainbow gel food coloring over the surface.
- Dip your apples into the candy mixture, rotating them to catch the beautiful color patterns.
- Sprinkle edible glitter over your apples while the candy is still tacky.
- Cool completely at room temperature until the candy coating hardens fully.
