  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Maple syrup
  • 2 large Large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
For the Brown Butter Icing
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter browned
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the maple syrup and large eggs, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool cookies for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. For the Icing: Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until browned, then mix with powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the browned butter icing over the cooled cookies and let it set.
