  • 2 sheets Frozen puff pastry thawed
For the Cream Filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar adjust based on taste
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract pure vanilla is best
For the Strawberries
  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries diced; can substitute with raspberries
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tbsp Water

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare strawberries by dicing them and tossing with sugar; let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in the strawberries gently.
  4. Roll out thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
  5. Spoon the filling onto half of each heart; fold over to create pockets and seal the edges well.
  6. Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
