  • 3 cups all-purpose flour substitute with whole wheat for a nuttier flavor
  • 1 packet active dry yeast ensure it’s fresh for best results
  • 1 cup warm water use warm, but not hot
  • 2 tbsp olive oil can be swapped with melted butter if preferred
  • 1 tsp sugar honey can be used as a natural alternative
  • 1 tsp salt important for balancing the bread's taste
For the Herb Filling
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced adjust quantity to suit your garlic love
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped can use dried parsley in a pinch
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped substitute with thyme or oregano if needed

Method
 

Directions
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the olive oil, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and rosemary.
  5. Roll the dough out into a rectangle, spread the herb mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log and seal the ends. Place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover the loaf and let it rise for about 30 minutes until it puffs up.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
